Aren't We All Wanting What's Best for Our Families?

What Makes Synergy a Green Company?

We Share Your Concerns About Cleaning Product Safety?

The safety of cleaning products is a paramount concern for both families and employers. The increasing awareness of the potential hazards associated with these products has led to a heightened demand for safer alternatives and more stringent regulations. This page explores the key points of concern regarding the safety of cleaning products, clearly defines Synergy's position on cleaning product safety and offers insights into best practices for minimizing risks.

Traditional household and institutional cleaning products often contain harsh chemicals that can pose serious health hazards. These chemicals can irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory system, leading to symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, and skin rashes. Prolonged exposure to these chemicals has been linked to more serious health issues, including asthma, allergies, and even certain types of cancer. In addition, aerosol cleaning products often contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can contribute to indoor air pollution and negatively impact indoor air quality. Accidental ingestion of these products could also result in poisoning, particularly in children and pets.

So, How Does Synergy Americas Make a Green Difference?

Designing Products for Microfiber

First off, we recognize that using microfiber is the best tool for cleaning with the least amount of chemical. Reduce the chemistry, lower the risk of accidents or irritation.

Eliminate Chemical Hazards as defined by OSHA

We are not fond of increasing your cost to clean by paying marketing companies for their dictations about ingredients. We work closely with GCI and don't use hazardous ingredients.

Avoiding the Extremes of the pH Scale

Traditional cleaning products tend to go to the extremes of the 1-14 pH scale, from extremely acidic bowl cleaners to horribly caustic degreaser & detergents. We know better.

Always Looking for Double Duty from Products

Our cleaners will fall into two distinct categories: bio-enzymatic or ClO2 compatible. The first cleans your surfaces and then your drains. The second cleans surfaces and then air!

Frequently Asked Questions About Green Cleaning for Home & Business:

What is Synergy's Commitment to green cleaning?

Our commitment is to developing cleaning methods and products that are more than just environmentally friendly. We develop products and protocols that make good sense. The majority of our products are designed to preserve human health and environmental quality. Whenever possible, we use naturally occurring ingredients, avoid harmful chemicals, and ensure biodegradability.

Why is green cleaning important to me, my family and my business?

Green cleaning is important because it reduces exposure to toxic chemicals that can harm human health and the environment in which we live. Traditional cleaning products often contain harmful substances that can cause respiratory issues, skin irritation, and other health problems. Green cleaning helps protect indoor air quality and reduce pollution. 'Cleaning for Health' means to focus on these criteria first. We want you to have sanitary surfaces AND air.

Are green cleaning products as effective as traditional cleaning products?

At the beginning, we would have said a resounding, 'NO'. But advances in detergent chemistry and making use of more natural ingredients (that have always been good cleaners) by manufacturers has helped to make better overall products for cleaning without the hazards.

What role does scent, or fragrance play in 'green cleaning'?

Honestly, nothing. Every chemical, natural or synthetic, has a smell, and while you might want to mask the fragrance of that chemical, but the last thing you want to do is mask the odors you are trying to get rid of. The presence of an odor is the presence of a problem. Cleaning is removing problems.

How are 'green' concepts incorporated into Synergy SB Products?

Let's go through them one-by-one:

  • Synergy Glass & Surface - This is the only product in our line that might be considered to have a 'hazardous' ingredient - isopropyl alcohol. This is the same ingredient that is judged to be perfectly fine and most preferred in hand sanitizer, so we will not excuse our use of this ingredient.
  • Synergy BioClean - Along with the digestive enzymes, this product uses a proprietary detergent that emulsifies grease and soils without leaving behind an oily film. It is so 'residue-free' that it can be diluted at 1oz/gal and used as a windshield washing solution during 'bug season'.
  • Synergy Consume - A straight bio-enzymatic organic soil digester and deodorizer, it can be sprayed anywhere and left to air dry. Uses no surfactants or detergent components at all, and never any hazardous ingredients.
  • Synergy Soil Break & Synergy Capture - Our one-two punch for carpet cleaning that breaks the bond of soil from carpet fibers and then carries them away on a flotilla of microscopic gaseous bubbles. Like all of our products, they're just good science. No hazardous ingredients.
  • Synergy Simply Clean Clothes - Originally designed as a product for laundering microfiber, it was discovered to be an overall phenomenal laundry detergent without any added fragrances - and to top it off, it works well with Envirotab, our ClO2 line.

Can ClO2 Tablets be considered 'green'?

Definitely, ClO2 tablets create as natural a form of disinfectant as ever there was one. In fact, it is identical to the substance within our own white blood cells, so you can't get any more natural than that. It is already built into our natural defenses.
