Green Cleaning All Around the House…
From grease-caked kitchens to moldy bathrooms and mystery carpet stains, this post maps out the most common household cleaning challenges contractors face—and sets the stage for a focused green cleaning arsenal that gets results.

What to Use Where & Why Synergy is Your Green Cleaning Choice

You're a Small Cleaning Business Owner and you need to equip your team with a tight assortment of products that will get the job done - Done RIGHT and Done FAST. But you also want it done with products that are known to have NO TOXIC INGREDIENTS. That's what you are going to find here.

Below, you will find a list of common cleaning tasks around a house, and the product that we recommend you use (and how to use it). We will address both Remedial (or restorative cleaning) and Maintenance (or frequent) cleaning products and procedures. So, Let's Begin!

Entryways & Living Areas

The Challenge:
These are high-traffic zones where dirt, oils, and grime from shoes, pets, and hands build up fast. Contractors often face scuffed floors, dusty baseboards, handprints on walls, and dull-looking finishes that need attention without damaging surfaces.

Remedial Product Option:

Synergy REMOVE-IT

Synergy Remove-It is for more than just carpets. Wherever you might find greasy-grime, adhesive residue, lipstick, marker and crayon, give this RTU product a try. With the power of d-limonene, an extract made from orange peels is a great choice.

Using this product:

These quart bottles come with a flip top and only a little product is required to do a great deal. It will break down the soil, but won't actually physically remove the soil, so you may want to have a Scale-Away Sponge for agitation and a damp microfiber cloth for wiping.

Maintenance Product Option:

BioClean Starter Kit PanelSynergy BioClean

Throughout this article, you will find BioClean come up again and again. Any hard or soft surface, especially those that have sub-surface area (porosity), can be cleaned effectively with this product. It is economical, requiring only 1-2oz per quart, so you will get 32-64 quarts from a single bottle of concentrate. Our Synergy SB BioClean Starter Kit is a great way to see what this cleaner-degreaser-waste digester can really do to give you mastery over your organic soil load woes.

Using this product:

Using the product is really simple, spray and wipe. The more the dwell-time, the better it will work. In an entryway or hallway, it is perfect for common fingerprints, scuff marks and the time your client's muddy dog came in from the yard and rubbed his coat against the wall for six long feet!

Kitchens & Bathrooms

The Kitchen Challenge:
Grease and food spills are the enemy here. Contractors need to tackle baked-on residue, stainless steel smudges, sticky floors, and lingering odors—all without leaving behind chemical residues that could transfer to food surfaces.

The Bathroom Challenge:
Soap scum, mineral deposits, mildew, and mold thrive in bathrooms. Toilets, tubs, tile grout, and glass shower doors require targeted solutions that sanitize effectively while staying safe for use in enclosed spaces.

Remedial & Maintenance Champion:

BioClean Concentrate Store PanelSynergy BioClean

As promised, here it is again - Synergy BioClean Plus - this time for both any remedial and maintenance cleaning requirements. Available in a starter kit, 3 x 2L cases and 4 x 1gallon cases, the product is amazing in kitchens & baths - functioning as a long-term surface and crevice cleaner.  It works great on every surface (but perhaps glass) and will find and consume any soil that is stuck in cracks and crevices.

Using this product:

Just plan on using 2oz in a quart of warm water, spray it liberally on all surfaces to be cleaned and - if possible - let it set on a surface for 3-5 minutes. This product is spectacular for cleaning out refrigerators, cabinets, stovetops and more. It may not remove every ounce of built-up carbon in an oven, but if given sufficient time, will really put a dent on it! This product also works well with our Pump Foam Sprayer. Check it out!

Envirotab Small Kit Store Panel

Synergy Envirotab

While not a product you would mix with or even use on the same surface while cleaning as BioClean, Synergy Envirotab is an essential part of the products used to clean, deodorize and sanitize kitchens and bathrooms. In kitchens it is perfect for deodorizing cutting boards, descaling teapots, deliming dishwashers and eliminating the bacteria in vegetable crisper drawers that starts your produce rotting the moment you bring it home. In bathrooms it is the ultimate product for reducing the load of microbes that settles everywhere, creating mildew and odor. Envirotab comes in a variety of packs:

Carpets & Upholstery

The Challenge:
Stains, embedded dirt, and lingering smells are routine. Cleaning contractors must balance powerful stain removal with fabric safety—especially when dealing with natural fibers or sensitive clients like children and pets. We conquer every conceivable carpet soil with 3 products that all come in a single kit.

Three Products in a Single Starter Kit:

Carpet Care Starter Kit Store PanelCarpet Cleaning with Science

Our carpet cleaning program keeps two facts in mind all the time:

  1. Detergent residue after cleaning is a BAD thing
  2. The soils you are cleaning from carpets are either organic or inorganic. Treat each with respect.

The products contained within this Starter Kit are:

Windows & Glass

The Challenge:
Streak-free cleaning is a must, especially on large residential windows, mirrors, and patio doors. Many cleaners leave residue or haze behind, and professionals often struggle to find a product that performs well in both sun and shade.

One Product for Glass, Chrome, Plexi & Stainless Steel:

Glass & Surface Starter Kit PanelSynergy Glass & Surface Concentrate

Our Glass & Surface Starter Kit will produce 64 Quarts of one of the very best cleaners you have ever used. Clean glass streak-free every time. Clean chrome and stainless steel of smudges and fingerprints. Forget the polishes and protective sprays - you don't need them! Just keep clean with microfiber and live worry free! We make no excuses for using IPA in our glass cleaner, and we won't take grief about calling it 'green'. IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol), if it were so hazardous wouldn't continue to be put into all of the best instant hand sanitizers.

Cleaning Glass with Synergy Glass & Surface:

Spray the cloth or spray the glass, it matters not. Just use two cloths, one for cleaning and the second for drying. Do the same for any surface that shines: glass, stainless, plexi or chrome.

Odors & Air Quality

The Challenge:
Odors from pets, mildew, smoke, or general mustiness are one of the most persistent and frustrating issues for contractors. The goal is to eliminate smells—not just mask them—using safe and sustainable deodorizers. Enter OdorPros - use the products used by Pros and sold by Pros.

Visit our Store to see the details for each of these great products. Solve any odor, anywhere and keep it away.
